Beyond the Obstacle

Beyond the Obstacle

Life is full of challenges that can sometimes feel insurmountable. However, with the power of meditation, you can train your mind to see beyond these obstacles and find a path forward. Here are three quick meditations you can try right now to gain clarity and move past the hurdles in your way.

1. Breath of Clarity

Find a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed. Sit comfortably with your back straight and close your eyes. Take a deep breath in through your nose, and exhale slowly through your mouth. As you breathe in, imagine drawing in clarity and understanding. As you exhale, release any tension. Continue this deep, mindful breathing for a few minutes, focusing solely on your breath. Allow your mind to clear and open up to new perspectives. With each breath, visualize the obstacle in front of you becoming smaller and more manageable. Let your breath guide you to a place of calm and clarity.

2. Visualize Success

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Close the eyes and take a few deep breaths to center yourself. Now, picture the obstacle that is currently in your path. Imagine it as a physical object—perhaps a large boulder or a tall wall. As you continue to breathe deeply, visualize yourself overcoming this obstacle. See yourself climbing over the boulder or finding a way around the wall. Focus on the feelings of triumph and relief as you successfully navigate past the challenge. Hold onto this vision for a few minutes, allowing yourself to fully experience the sense of accomplishment. When you’re ready, open your eyes and carry this feeling of success with you.

3. Try the Magic of Body Scan

Find a quiet place to sit or lie down. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Begin by focusing your attention on the top of your head. Slowly scan down your body, bringing your awareness to each part as you go. Notice any areas of tension or discomfort and breathe into them, allowing the tension to release with each exhale. As you continue your body scan, imagine roots growing from your feet into the ground, anchoring you firmly to the earth. This grounding exercise helps you feel stable and supported, no matter what obstacles you face. When you reach your feet, take a few more deep breaths, feeling the stability and strength within you. Open your eyes, knowing that you are grounded and capable of overcoming any challenges.
