Yoga for Fat Joy

Yoga for Fat Joy

Somewhere along the way, the world decided that movement should be tied to change. To slimming down. To becoming less. But what if movement was about expansion instead? About feeling everything, power, softness, breath, joy?

Exercise doesn’t have to be about erasing yourself. It is about inhabiting yourself fully. Yoga is perfect for this.

Reclaiming Your Practice for Joy

1. Move for pleasure, not punishment Yoga isn’t about undoing your body size. It’s about sinking into presence, into the way your body carries you through the world. Move because it feels good—not because you have to fit into an aesthetic.

2. Ditch the “before and after” mindset You are not a project. Your worth is not pending weight loss. You are not an outcome waiting to be measured. The value of your practice is in this breath, this moment—not in some random finish line.

3. Let props be freedom, not limitation Blocks, bolsters, straps—they aren’t crutches, they’re invitations. They allow you to explore depth, comfort, and ease. Use them without hesitation.

4. Take up space without apology You are allowed to be big and present. Stretch wide. Breathe deep. Let yourself exist in fullness—not in shrinking, not in fitting in, but in belonging exactly as you are today.

This Practice is Yours

Yoga doesn’t require you to become someone else. It asks you to be you – fully, unapologetically, joyously.

You are enough. You always have been.
